学校概况
南伊利诺大学(简称SIUC)由两所大学组成，卡本代尔(Carbondale)大学是较大的一所。这成立于1869年的历史悠久学府，占地达3290亩，其中981亩已被用作大学校舍及校园之用。
据大学指南指出，最好的学科是商科管理、工程和传播学，师范教育也有相当多学生修读。前一两年共有17,820人投考，录取率为64%，并不太难考取。
《美国新闻与世界报道》评为四级国家级大学，学术声誉全美第136。
校园生活
大学宿位供应相当充裕，四分一学生都可以住宿，校方更规定21岁以下学生必须住在宿舍，换言之，海外生不必担心宿舍问题。
